Location: In Do Son District, Hai Phong City, 20km from the southeast of Hai Phong City’s centre, about 120km from Ha Noi.
Characteristics: Do Son is one of the most famous beaches in the North of Viet Nam.
Do Son is a small peninsula created by Rong (Dragon) Moutain extending from Lach Tray Mouth and Van Uc Mouth.
Do Son attracts visitors by fresh air, beaches surrounded by pine hills and beautiful natural scenery. Do Son Beach is divided into three main zones including Zone 1, Zone 2 and Zone 3. Do Son Beach is not blue due to its position in the middle of the two river mouths, but has moderate salinity to prevent skin from sunburn although sea bath at noon.
Immediately upon setting foot in Hai Phong, the French turned Do Son into a summer tourist area for their expatriate community and the Vietnamese upper class. The former summer residence of Bao Dai, the last king of the Nguyen Dynasty, is located there.
Do Son is known for a number of cultural and tourist attractions, such as Lady De Temple, Hang (Cave) Pagoda, Hai Dang (lighthouse) in Dau Islet, Hon Dau Resort, etc.
To Do Son, visitors can go along the coast to admire the stretching pine hills, rows of casuarina, coconut, sea bath and enjoy a variety of fresh seafood such as shrimp, crab, fish, squid, jellyfish, etc.
Nowadays, many hotels and seafood restaurants are available for reserving visitors.
