A special “ao dai” (traditional long dress of Vietnam) show was held at Yen Tu historic and landscape site Uong Bi city on April 23. This event is part of the province’s series of activities to stimulate tourism after more than 2 years into Covid-19 pandemic.
Attending the program were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh, representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, localities and thousands of locals and tourists.
The lake of Ngoan Nguyet in the Truc Lam Yen Tu Cultural Center was selected as the stage for this event.
Themed “Peace of mind and body”, Quang Ninh Ao Dai Festival 2022 showcased 12 collections designed by Vietnam’s 12 leading designers such as Minh Hanh, Ngoc Han, Hue Thi, Cao Minh Tien, Trung. Beret, Tran Thien Khanh, etc.
Such collections are all inspired by Buddhist culture and reflect the beauty of Yen Tu nature such as bamboo forests, windy clouds, smog, moon, the concept of Zen and the static, etc.
The show gathered over 300 famous actors, artists and models.
Notably, the special “ao dai” parade drew the participation 48 guests, including 12 families of diplomatic ambassadors and representatives of 3 world organizations namely UNESCO, UNICEF and WHO.
The event has brought many emotions to the viewers, contributing to honouring the Vietnamese ao dai and promoting the image of Yen Tu sacred mountain in particular, as well as tourism in Uong Bi and Quang Ninh province at the same time.
Within the framework of Quang Ninh Ao Dai Festival 2022, the exhibition of Ao Dai will take place from April 16 to May 2 at Uong Bi city’s Truc Lam Yen Tu Cultural Center and Ha Long city’s Quang Ninh Museum, and an Ao dai show themed “Quang Ninh – the land of heritage” is going to open in Cam Pha city on April 29.
